Coming Soon: Statewide Behavior Workshop Series

STAR Autism Support will be hosting a complimentary virtual workshop series for educators in South Carolina. This two-part series will be hosted in October, with specific date/time details to be released in September.  Please complete the form below to register your interest and you will be provided more details when they are released.  This series will be appropriate for paraprofessionals, teachers, coordinators, specialists and related services staff.

Session 1: Understanding the Basics of Behavior

It is important for all staff to understand and effectively use behavioral principles to increase desired behaviors.  This session definse commonly used behavioral terms and provides a variety of interactions to help educators relate these terms to situations in the classroom.  Participatns will leave understanding how to operationally define behaviors and use the ABCs of behavior to make instructional decisions in the classroom.

Session 2: Teaching Students What "To Do"

This session identifies ways to teach or replace challenging behaviors and increase appropriate behaviors.  Also included are practical ideas and tools for creating opportunities to intervene using proactive and reactive strategies.
